Plot: Abhay Singh (Sidharth Malhotra) happens to be running a cartel that is involved in kidnapping the grooms, who ask for dowry in Madhopur (Bihar). He then, makes them marry the brides forcefully. However, when Babli (Parineeti Chopra), his childhood love returns to his life, Abhay has to decide between his ambitions and his love.

Review: Prepaid kidnapping of grooms and shotgun weddings is a real issue in some regions of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. Writer Sanjeev K Jha and director Prashant Singh make an attempt to highlight these societal problems with a tinge of humour. Although they get full marks in making the audience chuckle many times in the film's first half, yet the second half remains quite flat. In the final half, the story suddenly becomes melodramatic, and the humor goes completely off from the space. The story also loses its impact of conveying the actual message it intends to.

Although the lead actor Sidharth Malhotra succeeds in making the frame appear good, yet he seems to be a complete misfit in his role. Even his attire and accessories don't make him look like a goon he's posing to be. The same goes with the lead actress Parineeti Chopra, who looks heavily glammed-up, wearing chic designer attires even during her emotional turmoil. She starts her character as a strong lady, beating her boyfriend up publicly; however, she turns into a 'bechari' towards the second half, which is not at all convincing.

Among the other casts of the film, Sanjay Mishra and Javed Jaffrey seem to be quite entertaining and impressive. The character of Aparshakti Khurana, as a friend-zoned Romeo is also considerably decent.

Jabariya Jodi begins on an impressive and promising note; however, ends up losing its impact along its way.
