Plot: After the bloody satanic cult episode steered by babysitter Bee (Samara Weaving), two years have passed and Cole (Judah Lewis) is in high school. But no matter how freakish she seems; she is the one for Cole!

Review: If it is your earnest wish to give your mind a break, you better surrender to the babysitter. But we are not at all referring to the 2017 horror comedy, no way! Wake up, children! The sequel has arrived, and this time it is double strong, double juicy! Small introduction, the original film, ‘Babysitter’ goes around Cole and her crush Bee who arrives to babysit pre-teen Cole one evening along with her partners in crime. Bee reveals that she is a part of a demonic cult that asks for the blood of the innocent. Bee and her confidants keep no stone unturned in their attempt to murder Cole, the innocent. However, they all end up dying horrifying deaths.

The sequel is a refreshing glass of cocktail having a bloody story punched well with high school rom-com. It turns out that Cole’s sweet, little Melanie is a wolf in a sheep’s clothing, and she is a part of that blood-thirsty demonic cult herself.

Surprise folks! The dead cult members from the predecessor film are back! Followed by a screen full of drama, slashing body parts, and spilling gallons of blood, Cole and Phoebe fall in love only to find out that Queen Bee has received a resurrection as well escorting an unexpected twist. However, it is this twist that has created a major plot hole it the story!

Firstly, Bee only gets a special appearance in the sequel and not the lead rogue avatar. Her return connects the sequel and the original film as to why Bee sold her soul to the devil in the first place. And this connective anecdote differs from how the makers actually held it in ‘Babysitter’. While the original story portrayed that Bee derives her charisma and confidence from the devil’s pact she agreed upon, but the sequel revamped it as an act of sacrifice.

One doesn’t try and make sense out of ‘The Babysitter: Killer Queen’. It is an out-and-out entertainer and all that blood show isn’t gory at all but picks up the fun as the story moves ahead. Wondering, are you going to get a part 3? Well, that is hard to tell. The film ends on a happy note where the villains have been slain and sent to hell, the dad is convinced that their son is not crazy after witnessing the devilish rituals himself, and the boy gets and kisses the girl! Perfecto!

The best takeaway from ‘The Babysitter: Killer Queen’? is The Apache (Jump On It) by Sugarhill Gang from 1981. The foot-tapping track is a real dope; killer moves, anybody?
