Plot: After around twenty-seven years of the pass of the terrific happenings of IT, it is now time for Pennywise, the dangerous clown’s return. In the second edition of IT, Mike (Isaiah Mustafa) calls up his old buddies of the Losers Club to meet up. Five people of the group namely Bill (James McAvoy), Ben (Jay Ryan), Eddie (James Ransone), Richie (Bill Hader), and Bev (Jessica Chastain), turn up for the meeting. They do not clearly remember about the things that took place back in the year 1989 and are not much excited to unravel the things they should not. Mike tells his friends that they should discover tokens from the summer of 1989 that can be used to perform a ritual for sending the threatening clown away forever. However, this idea seems to be much deadly, putting the friends into a fierce situation all over again.

Review: IT Chapter Two beings with a threatening crime scene set in the American suburb of Derry. This bone-chilling opening sets up the atmosphere for a thrilling, action-packed climax. Writer Gary Dauberman and director Andy Muschietti show the audience some visuals of the current-day condition of the Losers Club members. All the members of the group have proceeded with their city life, except Mike, who has stayed back and lived in Derry. The city dwellers have left their dark past behind with a lot of effort until a sudden call from their friend Mike lands them up in the place where everything had begun.

The movie seamlessly travels between the present and past. Hence, for those viewers who have not yet watched the first edition, connecting the things can be a tough task. That being said, glimpses of the past, showcasing the young actors are no doubt the best thing that the movie carries. These scenes merge humor and terror successfully and keep you craving for more. The credit for this undoubtedly goes to the film’s young actors, who have given a brilliant performance in IT’s first edition. Talking about the performances of the older actors, James McAvoy as Bill and Jessica Chastain as Bev are the most appreciable. The remaining members of the film’s cast have done an above-average job, though their chemistry seems to be terribly lacking compared to their young counterparts.

The antagonist of the film Bill Skarsgård is bang on as the devil clown and succeeds in rendering a spine chilling performance each time he appears on the screen. His horrifying segments with the group of friends are undoubtedly the best. The movie throws up terrifying jump scares constantly, though few of them are quite predictable. The screenplay of the film is remarkable with amazing special effects.

Overall, this sequel encompasses a lot of things that should be experienced at least once. IT Chapter 2 manages to keep the viewers engaged in spite of its super exhausting, long runtime of nearly three hours and complex narration.
