Plot: Pati Patni Aur Woh is a remake of Legendary director BR Chopra’s film with the same name that was released back in 1978. The comedy-drama is about Abhinav Tyagi aka Chintu Tyagi (Kartik Aaryan), from Kanpur, a government employee who juggles between his wife Vedika (Bhumi), a physics teacher and ‘Woh’ Tapasya Singh (Ananya), an entrepreneur from Delhi who visits Kanpur for an official work.

Review: Though this film is a remake, filmmaker Mudassar Aziz has made the plot look relevant even to the viewers today and has managed to keep them hooked with enough funny dialogues and witty one-liners.

He has directed films like ‘Happy Bhaag Jayegi’ (2016) and ‘Happy Phirr Bhaag Jayegi’ (2018), therefore has a firm hold over the rom-com genre.

In brief the dialogues are definitely one of the highpoints. And even though the screenplay has a few rough edges, by keeping the narrative simple Aziz doesn't let the film deviate from its path.

Kartik as Chintu Tyagi once again with a striking screen presence makes the most of his part.  Bhumi gets into the skin of any character and has proved that she can do the same with ease too. She comparatively gets to play a superb character and holds her charm as a Patni quite well. And the chemistry shown between Kartik and Bhumi is impactful. Even Ananya, who made her debut with ‘Student of The Year 2’, has shown a lot of improvement.

Besides the three main characters, Aparshakti Khurana has proved himself time and again, with his remarkable performance. With an impressive comic timing, his scenes with Kartik is that brings in the most laughs. Despite Kartik Aaryan’s strong presence, Aparshakti Khurana will be the biggest takeaway. Since the actor has shared screen space with Kartik in ‘Luka Chuppi’ earlier, their comfort is evident in this movie, too.

Watch out for the two special appearances Sunny Singh (Doga), who makes a cameo as Bhumi (Vedika’s) ex-boyfriend and Kriti Sanon (Neha Khanna) and a throwback to the original film, when Kartik hums, ‘Thande thande paani se’.

Songs are fine as there aren’t too many songs popping up, thankfully. 'Dilbara' is shot well while 'Dheeme Dheeme' is foot tapping and 'Ankhiyon Se Goli Mare' is played during the end credits.

Overall, Pati Patni Aur Woh is a fun-filled entertainer and is a fun reboot of a classic. If you are looking out for some good, light-hearted entertainment this weekend, then this one could be a delightful watch!
