Plot: The movie revolves around a married couple, Audrey and Nick Spitz (Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler) and their long due honeymoon in Europe. Audrey is a hairdresser and Nick is a wannabe detective.

On their 15th wedding anniversary, get into an altercation about how they don’t do anything romantic anymore. During the heated conversation, Audrey points out that Nick promised her a Euro trip 15 years ago, and how it will never come to fruition. To keep the argument at bay, Nick tells her that he has indeed planned a Euro trip as a gift for their 15th anniversary.

And so the adventure begins!  On their way to Europe, they meet a filthy rich man, Charles Cavendish (Luke Evans) who invites them to a luxurious yacht party organized by a billionaire, Malcolm Quince. At the party, Malcolm gets killed in a mysterious way leaving Audrey and Nick as prime suspects.

In the rest of the movie, Audrey and Nick find clues, go through unbelievable circumstances to prove their innocence. During this quest, Nick somehow proves himself to be an able detective. How he, along with Audrey unfolds the mystery of a billionaire’s murder is what the rest of the story is about.

Review: The best thing about the movie was Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler’s chemistry. They were seen together after almost 9 years. Their last film together was rom-com Just Go with It which did a pretty good business. Murder Mystery, however, lacked the luster and a gripping storyline. Bland is the word to describe this Agatha Christie meets Hollywood fiasco. None of the characters in the film impressed as well. Sandler was his usual funny self but somehow, his portrayal of a cop failing to be a detective didn’t look natural. Jennifer looked gorgeous and witty as always in the film—that was it. On our acting meter, she was the best of the lot. We know we’d love her anyway but she has done a lot better in her previous films. Luke Evans looked deadly handsome in his rich-man get up. Terence Stamp, Adeel Akhtar, Gemma Arterton, and Dany Boon were good in their characters.

The movie was shot at some brilliant places. You’d love most of the frames in the comedy-drama, especially last few scenes. Oh yes, it’s good! There was nothing extraordinary to watch in the movie, honestly, so if you’re looking for a movie with the material, this one isn’t for you. However, if you are looking for nothing but an entertaining watch, you will definitely. In a nutshell, it is just another Sandler’s rom-com but with a twist.
