Man gets life term for raping minor girl in T'gana
Karimnagar (Telangana): A 20-year-old man was Thursday sentenced to life imprisonment by a court here for raping a 16-year-old girl in 2016.
Additional Sessions Judge S Srinivas Reddy also imposed a fine of Rs 40,000 on the man, Macha Ajaya, a resident of Gundi Village.
The fine amount will be paid to the victim, the judge said.
According to the prosecution, Ajaya had taken the victim from Gopalraopet village to Warangal on the pretext of marrying her. He raped her on April 13, 2016, and deserted her.
Following a complaint lodged by the girl's father, police registered a case of rape and arrested Ajaya.
