Mother’s Day has arrived and there is no better time to show your mom a little extra love, but the current government advice is to avoid all non-essential travel, and most of the usual places you might plan to go to mark the day are closed.

Thus, for many, this Mother’s Day is going to feel very different, but you can still make it a day of celebration and make your mum feel special by preparing these easy recipes all by yourself.

  1. Banana Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

To prepare the oatmeal raisin cookies, take 1 mashed ripe banana, 1/2 cup of rolled oats and 1/4 cup of raisins. Combine all ingredients and stir well until mixed.

Meanwhile, keep a pressure cooker or idli maker on a gas stove, with  salt added to it and spread evenly. Close the lid and heat it on a medium flame for 15 minutes. Grease all the idli trays and place the dough using a tablespoon. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until browned. And your cookies are ready to be served!

  1. Nutella Bread Cake

Moist, rich and chocolaty - the 3 ingredient nutella cake is easy to make and tastes divine.

To make the nutella bread cake, whip heavy cream with nutella until it becomes creamy. Now take 4 bread slices, and cut off the bread corners. Moist the bread slightly with milk and evenly spread the heavy cream and nutella mixture.

The cream will help the bread absorb the flavour, just using nutella won’t work as it is too dense. Repeat the process. Make sure to cover the edges as well with the mixture. Refrigerate the cake to soak in the flavours well. Finally decorate the top of the cake with sprinklers.

A must try recipe for all Nutella lovers!

  1. Chocolate Mug Cake

To prepare  a chocolate mug cake, take chocolate biscuits and grind it in a blender, add 1 teaspoon of baking powder to it. Now add milk to it and mix it well to form a creamy  batter.

Pour this batter into cups and add a bit of Nutella to it. Again top it with the chocolate biscuit batter and microwave for 2 minutes (or until set). Take out carefully and let it cool.

Once cool, top with chocolate syrup, if desired.

  1. Bread Pudding

For preparing bread pudding, slice bread into small cubes. Now whisk one egg in a bowl, add ½ cup of milk, 1 tablespoon cocoa powder, 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon powder, 1 tablespoon powdered sugar and mix all the ingredients well.

Now take a bowl, add the sliced bread cubes, pour the egg mixture to it, and add chocolate chips or pieces. Now again add more sliced bread cubes and repeat the process of pouring in the egg mixture and adding chocolate pieces. Microwave it for 2 minutes or use the steaming method.

Once done, take it out carefully, let it cool a bit and it is all set to be served.
