Rains lash parts of Punjab, Haryana; temperatures hover below normal
Chandigarh: Rains lashed large parts of Punjab and Haryana on Friday, bringing down the maximum temperatures below normal limits in most places.
Chandigarh received a heavy downpour in the morning for a second consecutive day. The maximum temperature here dropped by two notches to settle at 32.8 degrees Celsius, a Meteorological Department report said here.
Ambala in Haryana which was lashed by heavy rain, recorded a high of 31.9 degrees Celsius, three notches below the normal.
Karnal received light rain and registered a high of 31.8 degrees Celsius, two degrees below normal. Hisar, however, recorded a high of 39 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal limits.
In Punjab, Amritsar received heavy rains and recorded a high of 32.4 degrees Celsius, three degrees below normal limits.
Ludhiana and Patiala too were lashed by heavy rains and recorded respective maximums of 31.5 degrees Celsius and 32.2 degrees Celsius, both below normal limits.
The Met office here has forecast more rains in the two days over the next two days.
