Review: The Spanish supernatural horror movie ‘Don't Listen’ (original Spanish title: Voces or Voices in English) tells the tragic story of a family in a small town in the Spanish countryside.

Don’t Listen tells the story of Daniel and his family, who have just moved into a new house. Daniel essentially makes a living by flipping houses. Daniel’s son Eric, however, is eager for them to move to another house.

The first indication that something is not quite right in the house is that there is a hole in one of the walls that seems to be infested with flies. Daniel (Rodolfo Sancho) and his wife Sara (Belén Fabra), however, don't seem to mind this very much until it's too late.

The film derives it’s title from the fact that something is wrong is that their young son, Eric (Lucas Blas), has been complaining about voices that he has been hearing in the house. He tells a psychologist that the voices sometimes ask him to draw pictures.

Eerie music, buzzing killer flies, bodies of the Holy Inquisition victims: all provide major scares and intense, graphic, bloody scenes. Wrongly murdered "witches" from hundreds of years back wreak revenge on innocents, turning them into murderers and suicide victims. Audience will be subjected to scenes involving stabbings, self-mutilation, suicide by gun and hanging: it’s all gory!

Don’t Listen’s premise will remind you of The Haunting of Hill House. If you enjoy the eerie and scary stuff excites you, then you’ll find this film very entertaining.
