"Big Shoes" Author, Uses Harriet Tubman's Shoes; Teaches Others To Break Free, And Pursue Dreams

Author of the book, Big Shoes To Fill, steps into some big shoes herself, using monologues of history's matriarchs such as Harriet Tubman, to teach individuals how to break free of their limiting beliefs and pursue their dreams with passion.

SAN FRANCISCO: While September (17th) marks the 170th anniversary of Harriet Tubman's freedom from slavery; producer, actor, author, Betty Jewell Slater gears up to launch her monologue of Tubman's life story, along with the monologues of some additional history matriarchs as tools in helping individuals break free from the slavery of self-limiting beliefs, and as encouragement for them to pursue their dreams.

Slater's book, Big Shoes To Fill, How To Establish Your Own Brand When Following The Footsteps of An Icon, ironically places her in the big shoes of some of history's notable women.

Rosa Parks, Mrs. Coretta Scott King, and Bessie Coleman are three of history's matriarchs who have broken free of negative situations in pursuit of dreams that changed society. With facts and humor, Slater infuses into each woman's story certain principles to educate, challenge, or encourage audiences not to allow any obstacle keep them from tenaciously pursuing their God-ordained destiny and purpose.

Interest in Tubman's life is on the rise due to the anniversary of her own freedom from actual slavery, anticipation surrounding a new movie based upon her life, and the 2020 centennial of the 19th Amendment, giving some women the right to vote. Tubman, an abolitionist and suffragist, spoke often at suffragist rally's. Her hatred toward slavery, made her an avid supporter of women working to win the right to vote.

In Slater's upcoming Harriet Tubman performance at the 2019 Igniting Souls Conference in Columbus, Ohio, October 25-27th, which comes just ahead of the November "Harriet" movie release, the audience of authors and entrepreneurs will gain insight for breaking the chains that limit them in business and in life. Slater has big shoes to fill in bringing these stories to life, however, her book encourages the reader to bring their own shoes to the table, she heeds the advice and delivers an encouraging message. The book will be released December 2019 and will be available for purchase on Amazon.
