A Conversation with a 32-year-old Unmarried Indian Man

After the age of 30, people start caring about your marriage more than you do. Even scientists are not able to prove the fact behind such mentality of Indian people.

Today, we are going to talk about one of the best stand-up comedian and journalist, Kabir Singh Bhandari.

Kabir was at someone’s house. He mentioned that within three minutes of conversation, the aunty who he knew since childhood asked him, “When are you getting married, huh?”

What Kabir said was astonishing. In fact, that is what most unmarried guys should follow.

Kabir said, “I am looking for such a girl with whom I want to spend the rest of my life, and one that wants to do the same with me. In case, if I don’t get such a girl, I am not going to marry someone.”

Now you must be wondering, why is it a good idea to follow this advice?

When we buy a mobile phone, we check almost every model to get the most suitable and best one. The mobile phone remains with us for not more than 5 years. Right?

We all know that a partner isn’t a mobile phone, but she stays with us till the last breath. Then why should an unmarried guy comprise his life and get married in a rush?

By the way, do you know what was the aunt’s reply?

She replied, “This is totally wrong, you should get married. If you don’t, at some point in life, you will become lonely.”

Kabir insisted, “So what’s the guarantee that my wife won’t leave me? And if you’re talking about being lonely, I would stay at an old age home for the company or get a dog.”

Kabir again interrupted the conversation and said, “Wait! What if I get a girlfriend?”

Now, this time aunty was in a perplexed state, and her reply was a bit unnatural and forceful.

She said, “She will leave you.”

Kabir giggled “And my wife won’t?”

She replied, “Yes, she can, but the chances are less.”

In the end, Kabir placed a full-stop to the conversation and said, “If there is no chance of being successful in either case, why should I marry in a rush? Let me be confident with someone first, then I will think about it.”

Aunty had no words. She satisfied herself, saying, “You will regret about this later.”

Well, the funny incident of the story is – The cook who was making tea in the kitchen, appeared in the middle of the conversation and asked while serving tea, “When are you getting married sir?”
