Dr Vaidya added, “Please explain the surgery part in detail and in layman’s language? She underwent robotic surgery as robotic alignment makes it more useful to achieve surgical accuracy. After this surgery, the patient was able to walk the next day without any support.

"We were worried and panicked as my mother was unable to walk due to arthritis during the lockdown, and could not do her daily chores independently. Since I had to move out of the house for work, no one was at home with my mother. Although she was thirsty, she could not get out of bed to fetch water on her own. But, she was determined to stand on her feet and never gave up. My mother is a fighter, and with the limitless efforts of Lokmanya Hospital, she was able to move freely again. She is absolutely fine now, and there is no discomfort or pain at all. I urge everyone to take utmost care of themselves, do not ignore any symptoms, and seek timely medical attention," concluded Sonali Metkar, patient's daughter.
