Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday congratulated shuttler PV Sindhu for becoming the first Indian to win the BWF World Championships.

In his congratulatory message, Kumar said Sindhu has created a history by winning BWF Badminton World Championship 2019 and has made the entire country proud, a release said.

Kumar said that Sindhu will continue to make name for the country in future.

On Sunday, Sindhu became the first Indian to win badminton World Championships by beating arch-rival Nozomi Okuhara of Japan 21-7, 21-7 in a lop-sided summit clash that lasted just 38 minutes in Basel, Switzerland.
