"Jay's First Day At A New School," by Candy Strother DeVore Mitchell is about Lil Jay who is afraid to go to his first day at his new school. He looks a little down and his cousin, Honey, a rap artist, asks him what is the matter. Lil Jay shares his concerns. His uncle, Honey's brother, enters their kitchen, picks up on the vibe and shares an idea for Lil Jay to create a rap song to perform at school for his new classmates and teacher.
About the Author:
The author, originally from Jamaica Queens, New York City, is currently a West Hollywood California resident who began the "Faces of Rap Mothers" program on YouTube followed by the "Faces of Rap Mothers" book series and now a Pay Per View Show that is receiving excellent ratings among the rap and hip hop community. The children's series titles however, should create greater interest among children readers in, and out of, California - the nation (United States) and eventually the planet. With a modest illustration representation start-up, these ten (10) children's stories will embrace ever-expanding visionary renditions for early readers.
