Review: Ace director Vikram Bhatt, known for his special relationship with the parallel world and its depiction in Bollywood has once again delivered a marvel. He uses all elementary requirements of a supernatural thriller and perfectly infuses it with his own flair of confidence. The buildup and capacitation are smooth.

Some scenes will leave you awe-struck. For instance, hospital scene where Karan Khanna follows ‘satan’, but finds the spirit getting passed to everyone around is sturdily built with mounting dread laced, dark humor and suspense. Merely the presence of that hand is scary to send you chills down the spine.  Must say, Vikram Bhatt very has effectively used the learning’s from his previous films to put forth a complete package of mystery, scares, drama and romance for a pleasurable experience.

Talking about the leads Sanaya Irani, Shivam Bhaargava, Gayatri Iyer are admirably efficient. However, there isn’t much to look forward when it comes to their acting. The surprise elements are Ananya Sengupta and Vikram Bhatt who impress with their performances and reflect a degree of subtlety.

The cinematography by Prakash Kutty is picturesque and the locations are aptly explored. Sangeet and Siddharth Haldipur’s background score is terrific, while Kuldip Mehan’s editing impressive.

Music and songs by Nayeem –Shabir, Sanjeev–Darshan, Arko Pravo Mukherjee, Sonal Pradhan and Vinay Ram Tiwari are hummable and add to the overall liveliness.

Overall, Vikram Bhatt’s GHOST may sound familiar initially, but the narrative takes an unexpected turn, leaving you in splits. The story is effective, but lack of scary elements will surely disappoint a Bollywood horror movie loyalist. With that uncommonly intense twist during the final reels Ghost is worth a try
