Story-
The Tashkent Files is an upcoming Bollywood thriller about the death of Indian Prime Minister, Lal Bahadur Shastri. The film has been written and directed by Vivek Agnihotri and stars Naseeruddin Shah and Mithun Chakraborty.

Plus Points:
•       Amazing research work done by the writer - director Vivek Agnihotri
•       Tashkent Files make some very shocking claims about India’s political history; the facts are about Lal Bahadur Shastri’s mysterious death in Tashkent.
•       Its sensational contents are relevant where important social issues are highlighted.
•       All the actors (Naseeruddin Shah, Mithun Chakraborty, Pankaj Tripathi, Mandira Bedi, Pallavi Joshi, etc.) have acted well but Shweta Basu Prasad has delivered an outstanding performance.

Minus Points:
•       Film is a documentary drama & hence masses are unlikely to patronize.
•       Duration is too long and at times confusing as well. Viewers are left with many unanswered questions, which is the biggest drawback.
•       Even after 55 years, Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri’s death still remains a mystery and it’s unlikely that truth will ever come out. Hence in the end, viewers feel cheated of the outcome of drama.
•       Party which had ruled India from 1966 to 1975 won’t support the shocking revelation about them.

Box Office
Film is meant for very thin multiplex audience, hence, would go widely unnoticed at the box office.
