The emergency meeting of Producers of Indian Film & Tv Producers Council (IFTPC) held today. They decided to follow the Break the Chain guidelines of Government of Maharashtra meticulously and wholeheartedly agreed with the assessment of the government regarding the present critical COVID situation.  The Producers expressed their gratitude to Hon. Mr. Uddhav Thackrey-Chief Minister and Hon. Mr. Rajesh Tope-Health Minister for allowing shooting during these times and hoped that the government will succeed in combating the grave situation and extended its whole hearted support to their mission.

Mr. JD Majethia, Chairman TV-WEB of IFTPC lamented that even some stray incidents in the Film & TV industry is sensationalized. He agreed that there are cases but emphasized that they are much lower than other sectors. Most of cases reported, he added that are actually the result of preventive measures taken by the producers. He said that RT-PCR tests are conducted on the prospective crew compulsorily and any positive cases from these checks are definitely not from the sets but are the result of the extra precaution shown by the producers. It may be noted that the industry conducts RT-PCR test on its crew and the new addition to the crew periodically. Mr. Majethia requested the press not to create panic in the society at this vulnerable time.
