On Monday, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos said that the E-commerce giant is all set to launch a fleet of electric rickshaws in India to tackle climate change. Bezos who is on a visit to India has made an announcement on Twitter, shared a video and writes, “Hey, India. We’re rolling out our new fleet of electric delivery rickshaws. Fully electric. Zero carbon.”

In the shared video, Bezos is seen driving the rickshaw, followed by the number of other drivers. The tycoon had earlier announced an investment of $1 billion into India to “digitize” MSME i.e. micro, small and medium enterprises.

Bezos, who founded the company Amazon 25 years ago, is on a visit to India at the time when his company is facing an anti-trust investigation and protests from small traders across the country. Since 2015, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has waged a war against e-commerce sites, Amazon and Walmart-owned Flipkart, accusing them of deep discounts and flouting India’s foreign investment rules.
