Albuquerque Restaurant Celebrates Earth Day with Meatless Monday
Acre restaurant in Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE: The Acre restaurant is known for it's signature Comfort Vegetarian cuisine. From their Crab(less) Cakes and Meat(less) Loaf with Mash Potatoes to their house-made potato chips and carrot-based Comfort Dogs, The Acre has a menu full of  reinvented classic comfort food that is vegetarian or vegan... and you might not even realize it.

"We want people to know that eating a plant-based diet doesn't have to feel or taste as though you are doing without. We prepare delicious, hearty, satisfying meals-- and we do that without meat or processed meat substitutes. Our food is crafted from fresh, locally-sourced produce making it a healthier and environmentally friendlier option," said Shawn Weed, Owner and Executive Chef.

The Acre insists that over half of its patrons are Carnivores looking for great food, ambiance, and hospitality. And while some may not realize that eating less meat is good for the environment, Weed wants to make sure word gets out this Earth Day. The Acre is encouraging folks to adopt the "Meatless Monday" habit beginning on Monday, April 22, 2019 in honor of Earth Day. In the days leading up to the event, The Acre will be sharing environmental statistics on the efficacy of going meatless. Their Earth Day diners will receive celebratory Meatless Monday stickers.
