“You shouldn’t eat this”, “You should eat that”, “Oh honey, that may harm you.”

Our near and dear ones tend to use these phrases frequently. And yes, they are most likely to be right because they might have experienced inadequate sleep issues earlier.

Well, have you ever had an inadequate sleep?

A night of bad sleep can make the upcoming day worst for sure. So we bring to you the list of such drinks that may interrupt your good night sleep.

  1. Alcohol

Initially, you may feel a bit relaxed and sleepy, but near bedtime, you may feel the disruption. There are so many people who consider drinking alcohol in the evening to relax themselves. Some even fall asleep during the evening. In such a situation, our internal clock timing gets interrupted, and the drinker finds it hard to fall asleep during bedtime.

Apart from this, those who take alcohol during bedtime tend to awake abruptly after 3-4 hours of sleep.

And you know what? When they wake up in the mid-night, it becomes challenging for them to go back to sleep. Moreover, alcohol affects the brain, and the drunk person gets indulged in intense dreaming that makes the sleeping experience bitter.

  1. Coffee

Soda and Caffeinated coffee, both are highly advertised across various TV channels for the energy and alertness they give us.

Unfortunately, caffeine is what distorts our sleep. The more we take it, the more our heart and respiratory rate increases, making us feel anxious. Those who tend to drink a lot of caffeine during the day cannot sleep because of the anxiety. It always makes them feel like, “What is the next task?”

  1. Tea

When it comes to drinking coffee and tea, both are pretty much the same. However, it gets complex to understand because of various types of tea, such as green, oolong, black, white, Puerh and yellow. Herbal tea is caffeine free.

Thus, it is advisable to drink Herbal tea instead of something else. Now, there is no need to explain much about what caffeine can do to your body. If there is caffeine in your tea, you are going to face the same effects that you can with the coffee.

The Bottom Line

If you really care about getting the best good night sleep, then do keep in mind that whatever you are drinking is as crucial as your sleep. It is highly recommended to stop the consumption of caffeinated beverages after 2 PM.

You can drink tart cherry juice, chamomile tea and milk to have a satisfactory sleep. But still, make sure that whatever you drink, you drink before 1 hour before bedtime.
