Plot: For two couples the future unfolds in different decades and different places, but a hidden connection will bring them together in a way no one could have predicted.

Review: The story is narrated by one of the main characters, Chris (Jacob Elordi, who set teenage girls' hearts a-flutter in Netflix's The Kissing Booth), a college freshman who falls for fellow student Sam (Tiera Skovbye). A parallel story involves Cuban rum dynasty heir Jorge, shown as a boy diagnosed with a debilitating lung disease; his doctor informs his parents that he won't live past his teens.

Not surprisingly, Jorge defies the odds and finds love, in the form of Grace (Radha Mitchell, Man on Fire, The Shack), a Pan Am airlines stewardess. The movie portrays relationships and characters in a way that reinforces gender stereotypes: It's love at first sight for the men, who then pursue the women relentlessly. Jorge aggressively woos his future wife with riches and luxury, flying all over the world to surprise her.

The dual love stories are depicted in alternating scenes.

The film was directed and co-written by Lance Hool, who started with the ending and worked backward. The film comes on like a love story wholesome enough to appeal to people nostalgic. Adapted loosely from Eric Gregory's nonfiction book All My Tomorrows, it follows the evolution of two romances with themes related to illness, death, grief, and hope.

The film does a wonderful job of presenting sequences. The cast delivers great performances. There’s excellent and striking cinematography. The soundtrack is beautiful. It’s those narrative arcs and locations that makes- 2 Hearts succeed.

At the centre of 2 Hearts, there is a strong love story and the film's last act will undoubtedly bring some viewers to tears.

2 Hearts, based on a true story owns a positive, kind-hearted message, and honestly, all audiences would appreciate the movie’s intentions and lessons.
