SRK Trolled: Fans Don’t Spare King Khan for Celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi

You still remember Shah Rukh Khan, for certain; dancing in a long Ganesh visarjan procession and singing ‘Mourya re’ in his blockbuster remake ‘Don’. But the times have changed and not for the good it seems. For this Ganesh visarjan has been a little more just merrymaking, the King Khan has been trolled, once again!

Recently, SRK shared a heartfelt post on his social handles only a few hours back, wishing fans on Ganesh Chaturthi. Putting up a black and white selfie, he tweeted, “Prayers and visarjan done... This #GaneshChaturthi, may Lord Ganesha bestow upon you and your loved ones, blessings and happiness... Ganpati Bappa Morya!”

Yet, the good effort by the Badshah went wrong as fans started criticising Khan celebrating a Hindu festival. A bunch of his Muslim followers started posting hate comments, urging him to return to “One Lord”, i.e., “Allah”.

One follower wrote on Instagram, “There is no god but Allah…. Allah is one .. Why u are doing shirk? Allah can forgive any sin but He can not forgive shirk. Kindly return to one God.”

Another went sarcastic by saying, “Non muslims are unlucky and being a muslim pretending like them is major sin u will realise it one day”.

Some went a step forward filling in their comments with cuss words, and even threatening the superstar of boycotting his films, “Saale deshdrohi teri film chalne nehi denge...sab boycott karo …. sushant ko bhul mat jana”.

And within a few hours, the hatred went viral.

And this online aversion gradually went on to take the form of a communal rift:

“Bro! He lives in India not Bharain where he can crush the dieties idols and get away unhurt”

A few fans, although shared a word or two of comfort by appreciating SRK’s religious liberalism:

“This post was meant to spread the true spirit of Indian and the unity & love among us, but unfortunately the comment section is so miserable. This shows how narrow minded you all are”.

“This Tika shows us how much secular my star is. And how much he gives respect to other religions....Love u king khan”

However, the ‘Tika’ didn’t play in favour of this much-loved star of Bollywood. In fact, according to a few netizens, Shah Rukh faked the saffron tika on his forehead. They continued making fun of Shah Rukh for allegedly photoshopping the ‘Tilak or Tika’. To the above tweet from an admirer, a follower blatantly asked, “Why did he photoshop then?”

And others joined this trolling game immediately:

“Srk khud Edited Indian hai”

And, as fans would remember, the ‘My Name is Khan’ actor has fell victim to such trolls earlier too! Last year, Shah Rukh was brutally trolled during the same puja occasion, and followers wanted him to change his as well!

When fans went overboard in Diwali 2019, calling SRK a “False Muslim”, veteran actress Shabana Azmi came forward in support of the actor with a savage reply, “Appalled to read that @iamsrk Diwali greeting invites wrath of rabid Islamists, gets called a “False Muslim” for sporting a tilak!”FUNDOS get a life! Islam is not so weak that it stands threatened by what is a beautiful Indian custom.Indias beauty is in her GangaJamuni tehzeeb.”

Going by the facts, the 55-year-old star has been a popular choice to and by the bigots when it comes to trolling. It is a different story that King Khan is often mocked these days for his choice of films or acting skills, both the masses and the classes. However, the fans somewhat take things too far at times by questioning a celeb’s religious inclinations. This perhaps, is a fault in their stars!
