Maha - Utsav 2022 flagged off at ND Studios, Karjat

Mumbai: Celebrated Indian Production designer & Art director Nitin Chandrakant Desai today flagged off the MAHA- UTSAV 2022, a grand cultural festival celebrating vibrant Maharashtra at ND Studios. The four-day Mega event that celebrates the rich culture, art, tradition, taste & vibrant colours of Maharashtra is held on 28th, 29th, 30th April & 1st May 2022, in honor of the 62nd Anniversary of the formation of the State of Maharashtra.The event coincides with major landmarks of Indian history. 29th April is the Birth Anniversary of Raja Ravi Varma, 'The Father of Modern Indian Art' of the 18th century, 30th April is Birth anniversary of Father of Indian Cinema, Dadasaheb Phalke and 1st May is Maharashtra Day. The event is supported by A S Agri & Aqua LLP, India’s leading company specializing in innovative and High-Tech Agriculture.

The four day festivities were flagged off with a Bike Rally of all-women riders in the presence of several dignitaries. More than 100 traditional artists and folk artists of the state like Baara Balutedar, Gondhali, Vasudev, Pingla, Bharud were also a part of the inaugural show. The event was graced by diginitaries like Ms. Aditi Tatkare, Guardian Minister, Raigad District., Shri. Amol Kolhe, MP Raigad, Shri. Ashok Dudhe, Raigad, SP and Shri.  Mahendra Thorve, MLA, Karjat (Raigad) and Veteran Bollywood Producer – Director, N Chandra.  “Since 2008 I have seen the journey of the studio, which has turned out to be a beautiful place today which has seen its own struggles. Artists do a lot of hardwork and want to exhibit the works in such a space; such a larger than life event honouring the state of Maharashtra and its culture should go places every year”, shared Ms. Aditi Tatkare, Guardian Minister, Raigad District.

The Maha- Utsav' of Maharashtra's great tradition not only provides a platform for artists working in this field to preserve the heritage but also inspire the new generation”, shared the ace designer Nitin Desai, Founder, ND Studios.

The event will see 10000+ artists & participants coming together to honour the greatness of Maharashtra, its history, culture, sports, arts, films, business and commerce and much more with a total of 50,000-  1 lac visitors walking in over the four-day event.

A S AGRI AND AQUA LLP, a pioneer in hi-tech soil-based vertical farming technology has supported and participated in the grand to create an awareness on the revolutionary production of Turmeric through Vertical Farming methods to meet the needs of the growing population of the country that will offer immense opportunities to the farmers of Konkan, Raigad, Vidarbha, Marathwada and Rest of Maharashtra.

An official World Record will be attempted by 5000 school children from Maharashtra who will come together to create World's largest Mosaic being made LIVE on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj with Rubik's Cubes on 1st of May, Maharashtra Day. The Mosaic will be prepared with 5000 cubes and nearly 5000 students.

The Maha Kala showcased paintings, sketches & sculptures by Old Indian masters like Baburao Painter, Prabhakar Kolte, Vasudev Kamat, Dinanath Dalal and more. Warli, Pattachitra, Tarkashi, Gond Painting, Miniatature, Tribal Jewellery works are also on display by Paramparik Karigar.  The Maha Kala initiative is put together by renowned artists like Gautam Patole, Deepak Patil, Rupali Patole, Geeta Castelino and Minoo Sheil Sadwelkar.

The event will also pay tribute to the Father of Indian Cinema, Dadasaheb Phalke and legendary artists Lata Mangeshkar, Ramesh Deo, Bhalji Pendharkar and V Shantaram. It will show a journey of evolution of Indian Cinema through a musical.

The event will also witness Maharashtra's cultural richness with shows like Maharashtrachi Gaurav Gatha, Lavani Utsav, Bollywood Treasures, short film festival, one-act plays, History of Veer Tanaji with Shahir Vinata Joshi and more.
