Kartik Tiwari aka Kartik Aaryan, simultaneously dabbled in modelling and made attempts to start a career in films while pursuing engineering in biotechnology. His debut film Pyaar Ka Punchnama (2011) though a buddy film, helped him get noticed. His later films Akaash Vani (2013) and Kaanchi: The Unbreakable (2014) failed to propel his career forward, but his subsequent collaboration with Ranjan and Bharucha in two more buddy films, Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 (2015) and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (2018), both proved commercially successful. But somehow the later proved to be a breakthrough for Aaryan, and he followed it by starring in the romantic comedy Luka Chuppi (2019), which also clicked at the box-office.

These days Kartik is seen endorsing several brands and products and has also co-hosted two award ceremonies. In his latest film, Kartik appears in the role of Sanjeev Kumar in the 1978 superhit ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh’, which is now remade, 42 years later.

Check out the excerpts about the conversation we had with the rising actor Kartik Aaryan about his latest films, success and lot more!

The success of Luv Ranjan's ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’ catapulted you to the big league. How much do you agree with this?

Absolutely right. I was flooded with many films and I had a tough time selecting the best. I think my right time is going on very well.

Tell us about your latest film, ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh’.

I am also very hopeful that ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh’, which comes from the B.R. Films banner leaves its mark. I am playing the role of Chintu Tyagi who works in the PWD department in Kanpur. The film has Kanpuria bhaasha. I have changed my personality a lot to look the character of Chintu Tyagi. I want to connect with the common people of India. I feel that people love to see common characters as there is instant connectivity while watching the film.

This time you are the official husband in ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh’. What do you feel about this role?

I was offered this film from Juno Chopra. He narrated me the concept. I was very excited and told him that I will definitely work in this film. There are many hilarious moments in this film, and I was very sure that all the husbands will feel very happy watching this film with their wives and also WOH, in case they bring their friends, families together all will enjoy the film.

Have you watched the original film ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh’?

No. I haven’t watched the film yet. I am a very big fan of Sanjeev Kumar and I have seen Koshish, Sholay, Trishul and Naya Din Nayi Raat. I simply loved these films. This ‘PATI’ which I have enacted is very modern of 2019.

You are now considered as one of the successful actors at box-office. How do it feel?

I think I am now in the right space of my career. My next releases are lined up for 2020 and these films are Imtiaz Ali’s romantic musical and Bhool Bhulaiya 2. I am really feeling that I am blessed by God and I hope to give many more hits in the future. The audiences are getting this feeling that agar Kartik hero hoga, toh khoob Masti bhi hogi (If Kartik will be the hero, there will be lot of fun). I am happy that I can give lots of entertainment to my audiences and will continue giving them in all my films. Panchnama has become a cult film, and Sonu Titu became a huge hit. These two films are always discussed whenever my name comes in discussion. I am indeed very excited whenever I see the number of women audiences, which is growing phenomenally.
