Chandigarh reports 13th fatality due to COVID-19

Chandigarh: Chandigarh reported one COVID-19 fatality and 29 coronavirus cases on Wednesday, authorities said.

A 61-year-old woman resident of Mauli Jagran tested positive after her death.

The woman, who was admitted to a hospital in Panchkula, also suffered from diabetes and hypertension, according to the government medical bulletin.

With this, the death toll rose to 13 in the city.

And with 29 fresh cases, the tally rose to 780.

The new cases included a two-and-a-half-year-old boy and a four-and-a-half-year-old boy.

New cases were reported at several places including Sector 9, Sector 18, Sector 32, Mauli Jagran, Ram Darbar, Sector 43, Sector 45, Sector 28, Badheri etc.

Eight coronavirus patients were discharged. A total of 526 people have been cured so far, according to the bulletin.

A total of 11,547 samples have been taken for testing so far and of them 10,719 tested negative while reports in 46 cases are awaited, as per bulletin.

There are 241 active cases in the city.
