The Airport Authority of India has put together a consolidated list of quarantine guidelines across all states in India for domestic and international travellers. Give this a read before you make your travel plans!

As per the Airport Authority of India, here's what you need to know if you're planning to travel:

Quarantine guidelines for West Bengal

Airports: Bagdogra, Kolkata

For domestic passengers:

At the airport, during boarding and travel, passengers shall use face covers/mask. They will also follow hand hygiene, respiratory etiquette and main train social distancing norms.

All passengers shall undergo health screening at the point of departure and only asymptomatic passengers shall be allowed to board the plane.

On arrival, health screening shall be done for all the passengers. Asymptomatic passengers will be permitted to go with the advice that they shall self-monitor their health for 14 days.

Samples will be collected for COVID test from all symptomatic passengers. They will be taken to the nearest health facility for sample collection and health condition assessment.

Those, with moderate or severe symptoms, will be admitted to the dedicated Covid health facility and managed accordingly. Those, having mild symptoms, will be asked to go for home/institutional isolation. Further, medical interventions will be taken as per the test result.

All passengers are required to submit a filled up self-declaration form at the time of arrival to the state health officials.

Regular sanitization/disinfection of the common surfaces shall be done at the airports. There should be adequate availability of soaps/sanitizers at different points in the airport.

Adequate publicity for maintenance of social distancing norms and health hygiene protocol should be followed at the airport.

Quarantine guidelines for Assam

Airports: Guwahati, Dibrugarh, Jorhat and Silchar Airport

For domestic and international passengers:

COVID swab tests will be conducted upon arrival and antigen tests are available in Guwahati.

Two days of Institutional Quarantine followed by eight days of Home Quarantine for all passengers. This is applicable for Dibrugarh Silchar/Jorhat/Tezpur. For Guwahati, the antigen test is available and results are available in 60 min.

For all interstate arrival: If the test result is positive, the passenger will be moved to a COVID facility for further processing. If the results are negative, swab test will be done and sent for RT-PCR COVID-19 test also. The passenger will be allowed to proceed and follow home quarantine for eight days.

If the passenger does not wish to Home Quarantine, district administration will facilitate the quarantine option in a hotel. The expenses will need to be paid by the passengers.

Exception to Quarantine: Below mentioned categories shall be exempted from institutional quarantine, however they will be required to go be for 14 days of Home Quarantine:

Pregnant women, elderly persons above 75 years, Person due to attend funeral of immediate relation, Children below 10 years, Divyang Immediate relative of hospitalized patients, people with pre-existing health conditions, Passengers returning the same day.

Exemption to quarantine shall also be given in the following scenarios:

Husband and wife traveling to Assam together; husband, wife and their children travelling together to Assam; husband, wife & their parents travelling together.

Exemption will be given to asymptomatic passengers of the above categories.

Every person of the group shall undergo 14 days home quarantine after compliance with health protocols.

Passenger Obligation:

All passengers must fill a Health Declaration form prescribed by the state upon arrival. Passengers further travelling to other destinations will be transported to respective districts and processed as per the State Policy. Passengers opting for a connecting flight must ensure it doesn't involve night halt.

Failure to do so may result in quarantine for a specific period before commencing onward journey.

All passengers travelling in the capacity of military, para military personnel on official duty will be allowed to directly travel to their respective cantonment/camp where they will be quarantined.

Passengers are expected to certify the status of their health through the Aarogya Setu mobile app or a Self-Declaration Form.

Quarantine guidelines for Telangana

Hyderabad Airport

Health Screening: Thermal screening shall be done for all passengers.

For domestic passengers:

All asymptomatic passengers arriving at Telangana are exempted from quarantine. Those passengers who are found symptomatic shall be isolated and taken to medical facilities as per Health Protocol

For International Passengers:

Those passengers who are found symptomatic shall be isolated and taken to medical facilities as per Health Protocol. The remaining passengers who are asymptomatic shall be sent for paid institutional quarantine for a period of seven days followed by seven days of home isolation.

Passengers may be exempted from the above requirement of institutional quarantine on the following grounds:

Those passengers who have compelling reasons / cases of human distress such as pregnancy, death in family, serious illness and parents with children of the age of 10 years or below may be permitted for 14 days of home quarantine.

Those passengers who produce a negative RT-PCR report on arrival with the test conducted within 96 hours prior to departure, such passengers shall be required to undertake 14 days of home quarantine.

Passengers traveling for business reasons and having negative RT-PCR test conducted within 96 hours prior to departure shall be exempted from the requirement of home/institutional quarantine. However, the passengers should return within 4 days of arrival as evidenced by confirmed return tickets.

Government reserves the right to test any passenger who has submitted negative RT-PCR test results at random with Rapid Antigen Test. Those who are found positive shall be immediately isolated and taken to medical facilities as per Health Protocol

Passenger Obligation:

Passengers are expected to certify the status of their health through the Aarogya Setu mobile app or a Self-Declaration Form.

Quarantine guidelines for Karnataka

Airports: Bengaluru, Hubballi Mangaluru, Belagavi, Mysuru & Kalaburagi Airport

Health Screening: All International passengers will be screened for COVID symptoms plus go through thermal and oximeter screening.

For domestic passengers:

Quarantine not required for asymptomatic passengers. Symptomatic passengers are required to self-isolate immediately and seek medical consultation or call Apthamitra helpline on 14410.

For International passengers:

Symptomatic passengers will be sent to testing centers. Health Authorities shall decide about the quarantine requirements for symptomatic passengers.

14 days home quarantine for asymptomatic passengers. Those on business trips and return within 48 hours are exempted from quarantine.

If the duration of stay is more than 48 hrs but less than 7 days, COVID test will be done and after receiving a negative report they can complete their engagements and go back.

Business/short term visitors who come with negative RT-PCR test results are exempted from quarantine. The test should have been conducted within 96 hrs prior to boarding.

All international passengers are required to download Aarogya Setu App, Quarantine watch app and Apthamitra App on their devices.

International passengers are also required to fill a self-declaration form on the Yatri Karnataka online portal at least 72 hours before departure.

Quarantine guidelines for Kerala

Airports: Calicut, Kannur, Kochi & Thiruvananthapuram Airport

Health Screening: Thermal screening shall be done for all passengers and COVID test for symptomatic passengers.

14 days of Quarantine at home or at an institution (if an independent room at home is not available) for all interstate and international passengers coming from outside Kerala. If any symptoms develop during this period, should be reported to the local public health authority.

Exception to Quarantine:

Passengers who visit the state for a short period for purposes like business, official, trade, medical court cases, property management or any like purposes will be exempted. Government has allowed them to visit the state for a period up to 7 days without mandatory quarantine ONLY after obtaining entry passes through the Covid 19 Jagratha portal. They shall provide the details of local itinerary along with the purpose of visit and local accommodation and contact person. Any deviations from this during the stay shall be informed to the authorities with valid reason.

Passengers Obligation:

Passengers are expected to certify the status of their health through the Aarogya Setu mobile app or a Self-Declaration Form. All passengers shall be required to register their details on https://covid19jagratha.kerala.nic.in/ and obtain an e-pass. Upon arrival, passengers are required to show their e-pass to the Health Officials at airport and undergo Home Quarantine for 14 days. All passengers intending to visit any other State or UT after entering Kerala shall be required to have the entry pass for Kerala and the State or UT s/he intends to visit.

Quarantine guidelines for Goa

For domestic passengers:

COVID Test and quarantine is not required.

For international passengers:

Thermal Screening upon arrival is carried out by APHO and passengers shall submit a self-declaration form.

Rapid Test Mandatory for all arriving passengers. If the report comes positive, passengers will be sent to COVID Care Centre as per State Govt. guidelines. If the test report is negative, passengers are allowed to proceed for 14 days of Home Quarantine.

Quarantine guidelines for Gujarat

Airports: Ahmedabad, Bhavnagar, Bhuj, Kandla, Porbandar, Rajkot, Surat, Vadodara

For domestic passengers arriving at Ahmedabad, Bhavnagar and Porbandar :

Thermal screening shall be done for all passengers. Passengers are expected to certify the status of their health through the Aarogya Setu mobile app or a Self Declaration Form.

No Quarantine required.

It is mandatory for passengers arriving at Surat to fill the online Novel Corona self reporting form and to download SMC-COVID-19 Tracker app here.

International Passengers (Ahmedabad, Surat) 

All International passengers landing at the airport have to do a 7 day institutional quarantine and after that a 7 day home quarantine. Total 14 days of mandatory quarantine.

Quarantine guidelines for Maharashtra

Airports: Aurangabad, Jalgaon, Kolhapur, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune

Domestic Passengers:

Thermal screening shall be done for all passengers

Domestic Passengers (Aurangabad, Pune, Jalgaon, Nagpur )

14 Days of home Quarantine for all domestic passengers.

Exception to Quarantine:

All domestic passengers intending to exit within 7 days of the arrival shall be exempted from quarantine, provided they are able to produce confirmed tickets for onward / return journey.

Domestic Passengers (Kolhapur)

No Quarantine

Exemption for Home Quarantine for Domestic Passengers at Mumbai Airport.

Govt officials: For Govt / Semi Govt officers from Central, State and UT Govt arriving In Mumbai on official duty on production of Govt ID and Permission letter, travel dates and purpose of travel from relevant competent authorities based out of Mumbai.

Short Visit: For passengers arriving in Mumbai for a short visit ( less than 07 days) on production of return flight ticket and address proof.

Others: For doctors, health care professionals, advocates, engineers, consultants, technicians arriving in Mumbai for Govt related assignments only. On production of ID and Permission letter, travel dates and purpose of travel from relevant Competent Authorities based out of Mumbai.

To avail the exemption, passengers should apply at least 2 days prior to date journey to ensure smooth procedure.

International Passengers (Pune, Nagpur & Mumbai):

All International passengers landing at airport have to undergo 7 days institutional quarantine and after that a 7 days home quarantine, total 14 days of mandatory quarantine.

In case the passenger requests for exemption for quarantine from the Air Suvidha website, he will be allowed to undergo home quarantine for 14 days provided he shows an approval of exemption sought.

In case the passenger has not requested for online exemption, then the airlines will assist the passenger to fill up the exemption form. Pending approval to the exemption request, the passenger may be asked to undergo a temporary Institutional quarantine until the exemption request is approved. Once exemption is received, he will be allowed to go for home quarantine for the remaining period of the mandatory 14 days.

Quarantine guidelines for Rajasthan

Health Screening Domestic Passenger:

Thermal screening shall be done for all passengers. COVID test shall be done for all symptomatic passengers.

International Passenger: Thermal screening shall be done for all passengers. COVID test shall be done for all symptomatic passengers. Self-declaration form will be checked.

For domestic passengers:

No home quarantine for domestic passengers. Symptomatic passengers shall be isolated and taken to nearest health facility

For international passengers:

7 days institutional Quarantine and 7 days Home Quarantine mandatory. Symptomatic passengers shall be isolated and taken to the nearest health facility.

Exemption From Institutional Quarantine

Only for compelling reasons/ cases of human distress such as pregnancy, death in family, serious illness and parent(s) with children of the age of 10 years or below. 

To seek such exemption, they should apply to the online portal (www.new delhi airport.in) at least 72 hours before. The decision taken by the government as communicated on the online portal will be final. Travellers may also seek exemption from institutional quarantine by submitting a negative RT-PCR test report on arrival. This test should have been conducted within 96 hours prior to undertaking the journey. This test should be uploaded on the portal for consideration. Each passenger shall also submit a declaration with respect to the authenticity of the report and will liable for criminal prosecution, if found otherwise. The test report could also be produced upon arrival at the point of entry airport in India.

Passenger Obligation

Domestic Passengers:

Passengers are expected to certify the status of their health through the Aarogya Setu mobile app or a Self-Declaration form.

International Passengers:

Passenger should submit a self-declaration form on the online portal (www.newdelhiairport.in) at least 72 hours before the scheduled travel. Give on undertaking on the portal that they would undergo mandatory quarantine for 14 days i.e. 7 days paid institutional quarantine at their own cost, followed by 7 days isolation at home with self-monitoring of health.

Airport/State obligation: Thermal screening should be done for all passengers.

Quarantine guidelines for Delhi

Health Screening: Thermal screening shall be done for both international and domestic passengers.

For international travellers:

Passengers travelling should also give an undertaking on the portal that they would undergo mandatory quarantine for 14 days i.e.. 7 days paid quarantine at their own cost followed by 7 days isolation at home with self-monitoring of health.

For International Passengers:

All travellers should submit a sell declaration form on the online portal www.newdelhiirport.in.at least 72 hours before scheduled travel. Passengers travelling should also give an undertaking on the portal that they would undergo mandatory quarantine for 14 days i.e. 7 days paid quarantine at their own cost, followed by 7 days' isolation at home with self-monitoring of health,

Only for compelling reasons/ cases of human distress such as pregnancy, death in the family, serious illness and parent(s) with children of the age of 10 years or below, home quarantine may be permitted for 14 days. If they wish to seek such exemption under para (iii) above, they shall apply to the online portal www.newdelhiairport.in at least 72 hours before boarding. The decision taken by the government has communicated on the online portal will be final. Travellers may also seek exemption from institutional quarantine by submitting a negative RTPCR test report on arrival, This test should have been conducted within 96 hrs prior to undertaking the journey. The test report should be uploaded on the portal for consideration. Each passenger shall also submit a declaration with respect to the authenticity of the report and will be liable for criminal prosecution, found otherwise. The test report could also be produced upon arrival at the point of entry airport in India.

Airlines Obligation:

Travellers who had not filled in a self-declaration form on the portal shall fill the same in duplicate in the flight/ship and a copy of the same will be given to Health and Immigration officials present at the airport/seaport/land port. Alternatively, such travellers may submit a self-declaration form on the online portal at arriving airport/seaport/land port as per the directions of the concerned authorities, such facility is available.

Suitable announcement about COVID 19 including precautionary measures to be followed shall be made at airports/port and in fights/ships and during transit.

While onboard the flight/ship required precautions such as wearing of masks, environmental hygiene, respiratory hygiene is to be observed by airline/ship crew and all passengers.
