HYSEA to beef up emergency medical care in association with Nirmaan

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Software Enterprises Association is actively engaged in deploying resources to immediately boost healthcare across the Telangana State to militate against the devastating second wave of COVID-19.

Hysea is rolling out a multi-pronged strategy aimed at expanding and deepening the existing medical infrastructure to maximise the impact on treatment and containment of the virus besides extending support to communities to cope with the debilitating crisis.

HYSEA has mobilised more than Rs 13 crore as donations from 35+ member companies to and in association with NGO partner Nirmaan has initiated steps to buttress State government’s fight against the second wave of pandemic.

“HYSEA is working with District Collectors across Telangana to establish/upgrade the ICU facilities at the respective district hospitals so that better care facilities are provided to patients in their districts. Expansion of quality medical care in the state and will contribute to reducing fatality to infection ratio and containing the pandemic,” said Bharani Kumar Aroll, president of HYSEA.

Actions initiated as part of the multi-pronged strategy include:

  • Medical equipment and staffing support to government hospitals (at present: TIMS, Kondapur District Hospital and Sarojini Devi)
  • 10 bedded Rural ICU Ward Setup across Telangana districts to support rural population (16 Districts confirmed, 4 under process)
  • ICU Ward Setup at COVID Designated Hospitals to increase Beds’ availability (TIMS, Kondapur District Hospital, & Sarojini Devi Hospital)
  • Community support through Home Isolation Kits, Ration and Hygiene Kits

The Impact so far:

  • 32 of the 34 requirements across 3 hospitals ordered including critical lifesaving equipment like HFNC Machines, Oxygen Concentrators etc.
  • Phase 1 support for Medical Equipment to TIMS and Kondapur completed
  • 2 ICU Wards Set up and upgradation in TIMS underway, 4 more in process – once completed, TIMS will become fully functional.
  • 70% of staffing requirements at Kondapur Dist. Hospital supported including Staff Nurses, Lab Technicians, Data Entry Operators
  • Support finalized/ in-progress for 7 rural districts of Telangana to setup 10-bedded ICU ward (30% of the current requirement)
