Going Pro In Life Launches Book and Virtual Training Seminar to Help College Student-Athletes Land a Dynamic First Job Doing Something They Love
CHARLOTTE, N.C.: Entrepreneur Andy Dinkin, a former University of North Carolina offensive lineman, has launched a book and a virtual training seminar, “Going Pro In Life,” to college student-athletes to create a strategy on how to land a viable job after college. Surprising, it is the first book ever written on this topic.

UNC football coach Mack Brown, Dinkin’s college coach, has written the foreword for the book.
“Andy Dinkin has done a great service to young athletes everywhere,” Coach Brown said. “Although they don’t think of it now, in a few years most of them will no longer be playing in stadiums and arenas for thousands of people; they will be earning a living some other way. It is my fervent hope that you read and implement the ideas in this book and share them with others.”
“Football taught me the importance of preparation, teamwork, effective communication, discipline, perseverance, and above all, the power of having a positive attitude,” Dinkin says. “Since entering the workforce in 1992, I’ve used these skills to achieve success as a salesman, senior executive, business owner, non-profit board member, and commercial real estate broker and developer. I am passionate about passing along what I learned under such a gifted college coach and UNC’s support staff to help many other college athletes across the country make the most of their vital time in college.”
Dinkin, a Potomac, Md., native who earned a B.A. in Speech Communication from UNC in 1992, was a three-year football letterman and Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Honor Role honoree playing for College Hall of Fame Coach Mack Brown. He began his career as a telecom salesman and started his first business at age 26. In 1999 he was named to the Charlotte Business Journal’s “40 under 40” list at a time when he was under the age of 30. Currently, he is a commercial real estate broker and the owner of a restaurant supply business.
Dinkin has been active in many charitable organizations and is a former board chairman of the national non-profit, Girls on the Run.
