Review: Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson), Wichita (Emma Stone), Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg), and Little Rock (Abigail Breslin) meet after a decade. This long gap gave them enough time and space to enhance their zombie hunting and killing skills. With practice over the years, they are skilled enough to fight whatever comes their way. They have identified the different types of zombies, how to go about with teamwork and above all, how to treat each other as a family. However, familiarity breeds contempt. Even after spending much time together, they begin to realize that their bond isn’t strong enough. All this leads to a bunch of problems as the four make their way across the zombie-infected United States to find a safe place to settle.

Not all sequels can do justice to the original movie, let alone be good. ‘Zombieland: Double Tap’ puts an end to any signs of sequel fatigue. It precisely works on what made the first film work, builds on it, and throws some amazeballs along the way. Just like the first part, there are many fun aspects and chemistry that you get to witness between the four lead actors. Harrelson, Stone, Eisenberg, and Breslin this time also managed to strike the right chord without missing a step. Their bond together is flawless and makes you fall in love with them even more. But, the one who makes a mark is the happy-go-lucky Tallahassee portrayed by Woody Harrelson. It is a rarity to see a politically incorrect character being hilariously endearing, but Harrelson precisely knows how to handle situations. He knows when to go overboard and when to reel it in.

Talking about the cast additions, some hit the spot, some clearly miss out. Rosario Dawson as Nevada is the female version of Tallahassee and fits in the character. Zoey Deutch as the stereotypical dumb blonde Madison is marvelous, he is sure to be the new favorite. Avan Jogia fails to find the same success as Berkeley.

Overall, the movie is a blend of humor and zombie violence that deliver regular laugh-out-loud moments, which keep you entertained throughout. However, that isn’t really a surprise from Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (writers of ‘Deadpool’ and its sequel), they are known for this style. With co-writer David Callaham and filmmaker Ruben Fleischer, the team pulls off the best out of an amazing cast. ‘Zombieland: Double Tap’ is a tight and hilarious horror comedy with new blood and brains into the zombie genre. It makes us wait for the third one!
