There are many days devoted to the celebration of chocolate throughout the year and July 7th is one of them and is nothing short of a special tribute to mankind’s greatest culinary invention. So it is yet time again to celebrate with some of the high cocoa, rich, dark chocolate that makes you go tingly inside.

Although you would love to celebrate this day every day, the chocolate day gives you the perfect opportunity to eat your favorites in ample portions. Hence, on this International chocolate day we bring you chocolates that will make you love chocolates even more. Do you really need any more of an excuse to over indulge? Well, it is definitely harmless once in a while.

  1. Choco- Muesli

To prepare the Choco-Muesli, mix melted chocolate with muesli. You may add a bit of milk along with dry fruits too. Scoop it out and divide them into small segments with the help of a spoon and fork onto a flat plate. Freeze them for about 30 minutes and the choco-muesli is ready.

  1. Chocolate Brownie

Mix melted butter, oil and sugars together in a medium-sized bowl. Add eggs and vanilla to it; beat until lighter in colour. Add in flour, cocoa powder and salt. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Mix it without over beating as it will affect the texture of the brownies. Fold in 3/4 of the chocolate pieces into the mixture. You may also add crushed walnuts, peanuts, almonds, chocolate chips, cranberries, raisins and so on.

Pour the batter into a greased baking pan. Smoothen the top out evenly, and top it with remaining chocolate pieces. Bake for only 25-30 minutes if you do not want the brownies to set well and get firm. This will provide you with a just under-done brownie with a fudgier texture where the centre of the brownies no longer jiggles and is just set to the touch.

Carefully remove it out of the pan and allow it to cool at room temperature before slicing. Store it at room temperature for 3 days, or refrigerator for up to 5 days.

  1. Frozen Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Bites

For preparing the frozen chocolate peanut butter banana bites, slice the banana and arrange half of the slices on a lined baking sheet. Set aside the other half.

Microwave the peanut butter to make it easier to spread (around 30 seconds to 1 minute) and spread it on the banana slices. Top it with the other half of banana slices you set aside before. Freeze for about 2 hours.

When the banana peanut butter sandwiches are frozen, melt the chocolate and coconut oil in the microwave. Then, one by one, dip the banana peanut butter sandwiches in the chocolate and cover all sides. Place it on another lined baking sheet and freeze it again. Take it out when you are ready to eat them.

  1. Ragi Dark Chocolate Cake

In a mixing bowl, whisk the eggs till light and fluffy. Add sugar and continue whisking until well combined. Melt chocolate in a double boiler, keep it aside and let it cool completely. Combine this melted chocolate with melted butter and mix well and pour it into the egg and sugar mixture, and whisk well.

Mix ragi flour and baking powder to the above mixture. Ensure that there are no lumps left behind, but do not over mix. Transfer to a small baking tin  and bake until a skewer inserted at the centre of the tin comes out clean. Remove from the oven and let it cool a little before demoulding onto a plate. Serve it hot with some fresh cream or enjoy it on its own.
