Vikrant Massey’s working experience with Deepika Padukone
Vikrant Massey, who started his Bollywood career with the film Lootera, is now pairing opposite to Deepika Padukone in ‘Chhapaak’. This Meghna Gulzar’s upcoming film is based on acid attack survivor Laxmi Aggarwal and will show Vikrant as social activist and Laxmi's partner Alok Dixit.
“Alok has been working with acid attack survivors for a while now and has been through the entire struggle with Laxmi. The film ill showcase interesting dynamics between the two,” informs the actor, who has been prepping for the part since the last two months and can’t wait to start filming from March 29 in Delhi.
While speaking about his character, Vikrant said to a leading web portal, "Alok has been working with acid attack survivors for a while now and has been through the entire struggle with Laxmi. The film will showcase interesting dynamics between the two." The talented actor will be joining Deepika in Delhi from Friday. Vikrant went on to reveal that he has been asked to gain about eight kilos for the role and thus he is 'binging on anything and everything, from sweets and saturated fats to junk food'.
On being asked about working experience with Deepika, Vikrant stated, "Working with an actress of her calibre is not just an opportunity but also a huge responsibility. I’m both nervous and excited,” he admits, quickly to point out that through this heartfelt tale of trial and triumph, the audience will see Deepika in a new light. “The story will resonate with the world."
The film, which is set to hit the theatres in January 10, 2020, is expected to wrap up by May after a marathon, two -month schedule in Delhi and Mumbai. It will be a working birthday for Vikrant who turns 32 on April 3. “The birthday is secondary, I am completely focused on the film,” he says. The film also marks Deepika’s debut as a film producer.
