Plot: The Sky is Pink is a film based on a real-life story about a couple who stand guards, with extraordinary courage and resilience, after their daughter is diagnosed with SCID, a rare life-threatening genetic disorder. Their life turns upside down almost right after Aisha’s (Zaira Wasim) birth.

The couple Aditi (Priyanka Chopra) and Niren’s (Farhan Akhtar) go through a gruelling time. And their life mission is to do whatever it takes to make their daughter Aisha survive for as long as possible.

Review: The Sky Is Pink, is completely fuelled by Priyanka Chopra, both in terms of characterization and the buzz created by her Bollywood comeback.

Director Shonali Bose takes on a sensitive topic and executes it brilliantly. Though the film is an extremely emotional film, Zaira Wasim’s narration lightens the mood at all the right moments, which helps create a perfect balance.

Zaira delivers a remarkable performance as Aisha. Farhan Akhtar demonstrates his character’s transformation from a young boy in love, to a dad who has lost his baby girl. While Priyanka Chopra embodies her character and leaves the audience convinced of the eternal love a mother has for her child. Together, their characters are extremely convincing, and their on-screen chemistry would make you smile, laugh, and cry. Even Rohit Suresh Saraf (Ishaan Chaudhry), who plays the role of Aisha’s elder brother, gets his chance to shine on screen.

The Sky Is Pink is disappointing in some passages, as it feels constructed. However, the writer and director Shonali Bose had bounced from tone to tone, livening the sombre subject matter with bright hues, quippy dialogue, and an ever-jubilant score.

While this film is definitely a stirring watch that engages the audience and leaves the audience filled with different emotions, it is a tad bit long and could have been shortened in a few places.
