TAL Joins Hands with UNESCO to Promote Educational Development

TAL Education Group, a leading K-12 after-school tutoring services provider in China, today announced that United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and TAL have signed a three-year strategic cooperation agreement at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris. The two sides will collaborate in carrying out the plan to promote future education through Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Ms. Stefania Giannini, Assistant Director-General for Education of UNESCO, Mr. Tian Xuejue, Vice Minister of Education of China, and Mr. Wu Shanshan, Vice President of TAL, were present at the signing ceremony.

Under the agreement, UNESCO and TAL will kick off with a joint seminar themed AI and future learning, which will invite experts and scholars in related fields to discuss how to facilitate future educational development and promote international educational cooperation and technological transformation.

Ms. Giannini said that science and technology and AI are key drivers for the development of education and hot topics in today's world. "UNESCO highly values and expects the strategic cooperation with Chinese companies so that the two sides can work together to explore the development of AI technology for education," Ms. Giannini added.

Mr. Wu Shanshan said, "With the strategic cooperation with UNESCO, TAL hopes to push the boundaries of 'technology+education' in the future and absorb more frontier technologies to promote the integration of education with innovative technologies, thus fulfilling TAL's mission to advance education through science and technology."
