Plot: The film set in London is a sequel to “ABCD 2”. It is about 2 rival dance groups from India and Pakistan (Team India led by Varun Dhawan and Team Pakistan led by Shraddha Kapoor), who have been competing against each other every time they meet, until they eventually realize that they stem from the same roots and have a common purpose to stand for their people from the Asian subcontinent.

Review: Director Remo D Souza’s film is sure to get a very good opening with the youngsters who love dance, but it requires even a good story as just dance numbers cannot make a movie survive solely.

When it comes to performances, Varun Dhawan has given an impressive performance. Shraddha Kapoor looks beautiful but sadly has less screen time to impress and hardly has any scene to show her acting skill. Though every dancing move that Varun and Shraddha make in Street Dancer is a treat to watch. However, Aparshakti Khurana has been wasted with an insignificant role, while Francis Roughly is good in the villainous role.

Remo has put the spotlight on professional dancers from all the dance reality shows he has judged so far. There’s Punit Pathak, Dharmesh Yelande, Sushant Pujari, Salman Yusuff Khan, Raghav Juyal who have played their respective parts well. While Nora Fatehi sets the stage on fire with the sass and ease, she has in her dancing. Prabhudeva too dances superbly in the” Muquabla” song. In short, the jaw-dropping moves and flips are commendable, and one would get to see a variety of dance forms.

Moreover, the film is beautifully captured. Be it lighting, sound design, ace dance performances or the VFX that is served to you in 3D -- it all makes for an exhilarating watch. The music is the USP. Though most of the songs are recreated versions. The good thing is that each of the tracks has been choreographed and picturized well.

Overall, the film’s plot has too many twists and turns with the second half especially dragged. Hence, Street Dancer is not a genre that everyone will enjoy watching as the film has nothing special to say, and no strong message to give. Watch it only if you are a diehard fan of dancing and love watching dance shows.
