Senior Lifestyle Corporation Breaks Ground on the Sheridan at Oak Brook
Construction Underway for Best-In-Class Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care Community
Senior Lifestyle Corporation, an industry-leading owner, operator and developer of senior living communities, and Kaufman Jacobs, a Chicago-based privately held real estate investment firm, began construction on The Sheridan at Oak Brook on August 19, 2019.
The Sheridan at Oak Brook will feature 127 independent living apartment homes, 59 assisted living apartment homes, and 14 memory care residences developed specifically to support those with Alzheimer’s, dementia, and other memory-impairing illnesses. Designed to create a vibrant atmosphere in which residents can enjoy a modern lifestyle in the beautiful Oak Brook neighborhood, the building will include top-tier amenities such as an open-concept design, dining and living rooms, spacious apartments, a bar and bistro with a pizza oven, an on-site theater, game rooms, walking paths and a memory garden.

With five stories designed to create an exclusive living experience and complement the local urban feel, The Sheridan at Oak Brook will be Senior Lifestyle’s most modern development to-date. In addition to providing elite, best-in-class living options for the growing Oak Brook affluent senior population, The Sheridan at Oak Brook will also create more than 100 new jobs in the community. The 215,000-square-foot retirement community will sit on 4.5 acres of land near major shopping malls and dining destinations.
This community will be the only dedicated, purposefully designed independent living, assisted living and memory care community in Oak Brook.
The Sheridan at Oak Brook is the fourth joint venture development between Senior Lifestyle and Kaufman Jacobs.
