Satirical Podcast BS De Résistance To Be Honored At HEAR Now Festival

Political satirical comedy podcast BS de Résistance, created by Lyssa Graham and Dale Leopold, will be honored

at the Platinum Listening Sessions at HEAR Now Festival in Kansas City, MO.

WASHINGTON: The HEAR Now Audio Fiction and Arts Festival announced on Tuesday, April 30, that it will be honoring BS de Résistance at the Platinum Listening Sessions at its seventh annual gathering in Kansas City, MO, June 6-9, 2019. The session will cover episode 12 of the podcast, "Rabbit Redux Deluxe." A comedic response to events during the Trump administration, BS de Résistance launched in 2018. Episodes are written by podcast founders Lyssa Graham and Dale Leopold, with each episode containing a new song by Leopold and music director Chris Mezzolesta.

Leopold said, in his role as showrunner, "I'm thrilled to learn that an episode of our show has received this prestigious recognition. It validates all of the hard work put in by our amazing cast, as well as our writing and songwriting teams. We want BS de Résistance to reach as wide an audience as possible because we think people will have as much fun listening to it as we do making it. I hope this recognition will help that happen."

"What Dale said," Graham added. "And also, thanks to the Academy for making us Sally Field all over ourselves. You like us, you really like us!! What? Not the Academy? Oh. Well, then, what Dale said."

"I've found that writing music and acting for this satirical poke in the eye is a lot better than arguing with people and bots on anti-social media! I highly recommend it!" said Mezzolesta.

The HEAR Now Festival is a gathering place where the work of master storytellers is celebrated and shared. In addition, the Festival exposes its audiences to recent developments in audio preservation by showcasing newly restored and archived award-winning audio dramas.

A fast-paced, deliciously irreverent and deliriously immersive political satire, BS de Résistance follows the adventures of a Texas mom and her precocious four-year-old son as they are unwittingly drawn into the shadowy struggle between the Deep State and its enemies. And there is a new, original song in every episode. New episodes drop on the 5th, 15th, and 25th of each month.
