Today, Mrs. Robert F. Kennedy and the Kennedy family hosted the 30th Annual Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Golf Tournament at the Hyannisport Club in Hyannis Port, MA, to support the organization’s ongoing humanitarian work around the world.

Mrs. Kennedy was joined by more than 100 guests, including former Red Sox players Jim Lonborg, Sam Horn, Bob Montgomery, actor and comedian Keegan Michael Key, former NFL offensive tackle Max Starks IV, former NFL receiver Donté Stallworth, former NBA center Alonzo Mourning, and director and producer Bobby Farrelly.

It was Robert Kennedy’s father, Joseph P. Kennedy, who, in 1926, decided to locate his family’s getaway in Hyannis Port because of its proximity to the only golf course on Cape Cod that accepted Catholic members. When Joe’s sons, John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy, and Ted Kennedy, later bought homes near their father in the late 1950s, the Kennedy Compound was settled less than one mile from the Hyannisport Club.

"The golf tournament supports our efforts to realize my father's dream of a more just and peaceful world," said Kerry Kennedy, President of Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights. "I'm so grateful to all of our sponsors and participants. Their generosity makes our work possible—initiatives focused on achieving the full human equality of all people that RFK envisioned.”

The 2019 tournament was made possible by presenting sponsor Chrysler, as well as Nike, Coca-Cola, Dooney & Bourke, and many other corporate and individual supporters. Proceeds from the tournament fund a range of Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights programs that protect and advance human rights at home and around the world.
