VANCOUVER, British Columbia: KITS, Canada’s fastest-growing eyewear brand is today launching its revolutionary platform KITS.com. Led by a team of industry veterans, KITS is backed by over 70 years of combined experience culminating in an eyewear brand that has quietly grown to over one million customers, while remaining profitable, and is on track to surpass $100 million in revenue in 2020.

With the demand for telehealth and e-commerce skyrocketing, KITS is disrupting the industry by enabling customers to purchase high-quality designer eyeglasses, sunglasses and contact lenses, online at affordable prices. KITS is reinventing the industry’s manufacturing, distribution, and delivery norms by producing its products from its local manufacturing facilities in Richmond, B.C. allowing the brand to reduce shipping time and environmental impact. KITS is also set to release Canada’s first-ever online optical exams later this year.

“For far too long the eyewear industry has been dominated by major players that no longer prioritize the customer experience,” said Joseph Thompson, Co-Founder and COO of KITS. “We saw the opportunity to do things differently and we’re thrilled to provide consumers with designer eyewear at affordable prices, and without the long wait and hassle of having to leave the home or office.”

KITS is founded by Roger Hardy, Sabrina Liak, and Joseph Thompson. Hardy was the previous founder of several revolutionary brands of eyewear including Clearly.ca, Coastal.com and Lensway.se which were acquired by Essilor in 2014. Most recently he was an investor and board member of sunglasses brand PriveRevaux.com which was acquired in February by Safilo. Liak brings over a decade of experience with Goldman Sachs to drive the financial operations of KITS while Thompson, previously with Procter & Gamble before refining his e-commerce expertise with Amazon, oversees the company’s day to day operations.

Headquartered in Vancouver, BC, with its manufacturing facility in Richmond, BC, KITS’ local-first approach is creating a swell of jobs in an otherwise tight labour market while reducing shipping times faced by overseas manufacturing that have become the norm in the industry.

“We are seeing unprecedented movement to e-commerce and telemedicine in the eye care category,” said Sabrina Liak, Co-Founder of KITS. “To meet this demand, we are building the most reliable and convenient online platform for the eyecare category."
