Neena Gupta finally opens up about her daughter's divorce
We reside in a society, where divorce is still considered to be a life shattering event. But the tragedy is to forcing two people to stay under the same roof, when they are not comfortable in each other’s space. And it was no different in the case of veteran actor Neena Gupta. It was a huge shock to her, when her daughter and fashion designer, Masaba Gupta and her husband, Madhu Mantena filed for divorce almost a month ago.
The couple, who got hitched four years ago in the year 2015, but two years ago, the couple decided to undertake a trial separation to figure out the fate of their relationship. Seven months after announcing the trial separation, the couple mutually filed for divorce in a family court in a Mumbai.
In a recent interaction with Rajeev Masand, in his chat show named, 'Women We Love', she stated that the news was very shocking and her first reaction was just like normal mother. “Like a normal mother, I said don't take any decision in a rush. Think about it because me and my husband both loved Madhu and still love him. He's a very nice man and we still love him. But... nahi bana toh nahi bana...Humne bola socho isko, aisa nahi hai ki immediate decision liya, they thought about it. It was a very big shock to me.”
The fashion designer was the first to share the sad news and took to Instagram to tell her fans. Later, the former couple released an official statement on their divorce, stated as, “After much thought and consideration, we have come to an amicable conclusion on all matters. We have decided to move forward separately and get divorced. We are two individuals who respect and care for each other and have made our own choices. We would appreciate if we are given our privacy at this time.”
