Navratri is one of the most important Hindu festivals in India. It is celebrated with great zeal and valor. Devotees are gearing up to please all the manifestations of Goddess Durga and welcome her home with open arms.

Just like other festivities, there are some rituals associated with Navratri also. Apart from playing dandiya and garba, one such ritual is wearing clothes of a specific color every day to honor Goddess Durga.
Devotees believe that wearing a said color on a day showers good luck, happiness and prosperity.

So, here is the list of the 9 colors for Navratri 2019 and its significance:

Day 1: Orange
On the first day of Navratri, this year devotees will please Goddess Shailputra in vibrant Orange. This colorful festival will kick-start with Orange, which represents energy and happiness. Orange color is known for fame, name, and money. It increases the charisma to your aura. So, be ready to set your energy high and increase the charisma to your aura for Garba/Dandiya Raas.

Day 2: White
The color of the second day is White. It symbolizes peace, prayer, faith, purity and stability. The day is significant for worshipping Goddess Brahamcharini, epitome for harmony and moksha.

Day 3: Red
On the third day, color Red is to be worn. Goddess Chandraghanta also known as Chandika or Rannchandi, is worshipped on this day. The name Chandraghanta was derived when Maa Parvati ornamented her forehead with a half-Chandra. Red here symbolizes bravery, beauty, fearlessness, action and vigor.

Day 4: Royal Blue
Royal Blue is the color for the fourth day this Navratri. Goddess Kushmanda is believed to improve health, bestow wealth and strength. Royal Blue signifies good health and strength.

Day 5: Yellow
Devotees will worship Goddess Skandamata. The color of the 5th day is Yellow. Yellow stands for happiness, brightness, power and cheer.

Day 6: Green
The sixth day celebrates Goddess Katyayani. Green color is dedicated to for this day. It stands for new beginnings, courage, growth, nature and energy

Day 7: Grey
The seventh day, known as Saptamim, is dedicated to Goddess Kalaratri.  The color chosen for the day is Grey, which signifies strength of transforming.

Day 8: Purple
On the 8th day, known as Ashtami, devotees will worship Goddess Mahagauri. It is believed that she blesses devotees with intelligence and peace. The color for this day is Purple that stands for calmness, peace, ambition and power.

Day 9: Peacock Green

Last day of Navratri, known as Navami, is dedicated to please Goddess Siddhidhatri. She believed to fulfill the divine aspirations of her devotees. The color of the day this year is Peacock Green.
