Early morning, waterlogging was reported in several parts of the city. The air services have been affected as several flights have been delayed at airports in Mumbai. In Mumbai, areas including Sion, Parel, Dadar and Byculla received heavy rain since morning. Mumbai received an average of around 15 cm rain while Thane and Palghar notched 18 cm and 17 cm precipitation. As a precautionary measure, all schools in Mumbai will remain shut for the day, the BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) earlier issued an 'Orange alert' for Mumbai and Thane for today. An orange alert is issued by IMD when the weather conditions is likely to disrupt daily life.
