Meet Shashishekhar Pathak from Maharashtra, creating ‘recyclable’ cycles out of bamboo, only on HistoryTV18

How do you take a ‘green’ mode of transport and make it ‘greener’? Find out from Mumbai’s Shashishekhar Pathak, a former airforce pilot, who was trying to find a suitable use for the bamboo growing on his farm on the next episode of ‘OMG! Yeh Mera India’ this Monday, 31st of January at 8 PM, only on HistoryTV18. The eighth season of the trendsetting original factual entertainment series continues to deliver on its promise of making the viewers exclaim “OMG!” every Monday at 8 PM with enthralling, inspirational stories of extraordinary Indians and their incredible talents.

Initially, Shashishekhar started making small objects like penholders and lamps out of the bamboo growing on his farm. But after stumbling across a video of cycles made out of bamboo, he spent nearly 1.5 years doing trial and error before perfecting his bike frame. In 2016, along with his wife Devika he launched his company ‘Bamboochi’ that builds a range of e-bicycles, folding bicycles, and India's first bamboo tandem bicycles. You can see this ‘Make In India’ innovation in action this Monday at 8 PM on ‘OMG! Yeh Mera India’!
