People who have long-standing jobs, like traffic policemen, constables, and teachers are more prone to it, also it can be hereditary. It can cause aching and ulceration of the legs. This patient suffered from varicose veins due to long-standing hours in his job and represented with symptoms like bleeding in the left leg, owing to which he wasn’t able to walk.”

Before taking the treatment, I would find it difficult to stand for a long time owing to the notorious leg pain. Due to the timely intervention by Dr. Kumar, I have got that much-needed relief. Now, I am pain-free and happy that I can continue working. Earlier, I was bogged down, but now I have started my second inning of life with a bang.”

Dr Ashish D Dhadas, varicose veins expert, Samata Hospital, Dombivli, said, "Varicose veins are enlarged, dilated, tortuous veins with defunctioning valves. They occur due to defunctioning valves in the superficial veins or the perforator veins of the legs. Majority of the patients who suffer from varicose veins are unaware of the disease pathology and the complications it can lead to."

Dr Dhadas added, "EVLT is Endovenous Laser Treatment of varicose veins. It is painless, scarless and there are no/minimal complications. The patient can resume his/her daily activities at the earliest. Apart from EVLT, Cryo Laser and Cryo Sclerotherapy (CLaCS) recently started in India, is a revolutionary Brazilian technique for the treatment of spider veins and small varicose veins of the legs. CLaCS is a combination of different technologies like augmented reality, transdermal laser, sclerotherapy and skin cooling for local anaesthesia."
