HYSEA Cloud Centre of Excellence launched by Sri. Jayesh Ranjan, IAS, Principal Secretary, ITE&C Department

Mr. Jayesh Ranjan, IAS, Principal Secretary to Govt of Telangana, ITE&C department launched the HYSEA cloud CoE in a virtual launch event. HYSEA Cloud CoE would contribute to strengthening the Cloud ecosystem with objectives towards enhancing knowledge, building employable skills, supporting startups, fostering a culture of research, and providing infrastructure for creating products, testing and delivery.

HYSEA Cloud COE will be coming together of various parts of the ecosystem - Industry, Government, Cloud technology & Service providers, Startups, Ecosystem enablers like Incubators & Academicians. Its key activities will include Tech talks, Bootcamps, research support, Enable Govt policy creation to support Cloud Adoption, Coordination with Cloud Service providers.

Sri. Jayesh Ranjan, IAS congratulated HYSEA for taking up this important initiative of setting up the Cloud CoE and assured all help from the Govt in making this initiative a success. Speaking on the occasion after the launch, he said, “Today is a milestone day for us in technology world as we add this important Cloud CoE in our state which already hosts CoEs’ related to Data Sciences/AI, Cybersecurity, Animation and Gaming, and e-Waste. Importance of cloud is becoming more and more prominent, and, in this context, I am delighted that HYSEA has setup Cloud CoE. I feel very proud that Govt of Telangana is one of the collaborators in this CoE.”

Mr. M. Narsimha Rao, Executive Vice President, and Head of the Cloud, Infrastructure & Security Solutions Service Line and head of the Validation Solutions Service line at Infosys Ltd., spoke on the ‘Business outcomes from Cloud transformation’.  He shared insights from extensive surveys which correlate cloud adoption by enterprises to the topline and bottom-line. He also shared that cloud transformation is seen as an enabler to faster time to market, promotes Innovation & Collaboration and provides valuable insights together with AI & Data Analytics. The time for cloud in now, he said.

Mr. Bharani K. Aroll, President, HYSEA & CEO, Infopeers, speaking on the occasion shared his vision of Fostering innovation ecosystem conducive to the growth of IT Industry in Hyderabad. He said, “Cloud in its many forms is a critical enabler for broader business transformation and the COVID-19 pandemic has further increased the speed and scale of cloud adoption. The concept of HYSEA Cloud COE evolved from the fact that we need a neutral entity that will help create and support an Innovation ecosystem promoting adoption of Cloud Technologies across CSPs. The target audience would be industry (represented by HYSEA member companies), Employees of member companies looking to adopt cloud as a career, Government, Start-ups and Students”.

The launch was preceded by a engaging panel discussion by industry and govt stalwarts on what would be next gen services and solutions on the cloud. The panel moderated by Mr. Ramesh Swaminathan, Director of Product Management, Informatica included Mr. Sridhar Pinnapureddy, Chairman, CtrlS & Cloud4C, Mr. Janakiram MSV, Analyst, Advisor& Architect, Mr. Kiran Darisi, Co-Founder & VP of Engineering, Freshworks and Mrs. Rama Devi Lanka, Director – Emerging Technologies and OSD, ITE&C Dept, Govt of Telangana.

Mr. Isaac Rajkumar, Managing Director – India, Opentext and Leader of the HYSEA Innovation forum welcome the delegates and set the context for the setting up the CoE.
