Sand arts are always awesome. Everyone can try, but not everyone can do it right. The practice of converting sand into an artistic form is a blessing. It can be done by brushing the sand, sculpting, and painting. Just like a sandcastle in your backyard, it doesn't need much effort. Just sand and some amount of water and a very little dedication!

Kids make the sandcastle for fun on the beach. In a contest, a person named Ronald Malcnujio built an 18 feet tall castle whose height is just 5 feet. He used several ladders to build the sandcastle. One ton of sand 10 litres of water was used to complete the castle.

We can also use some shapes like buckets, boxes or other similar objects to make sandcastles. The mixture of sand and water must be balanced; otherwise, if the sand gets dry of wet, the structures may break, and these landslides are common. The grains of the sand can stick together perfectly unless the particles are too fine.

From 1989 to 2009 in Harrison Hot springs in Canada, A world championship for sand art held every year called "Harrisand". The tournament had options for squad, duo and solo players. A team Sandtastic made the tallest sandcastle. The sculpture was 49.5 feet and took around ten days and 300 trucks of sand. A group of artists broke the record by creating a sculpture of approximately 58 feet in Germany. It was recorded as the tallest sandcastle ever. Around 11000 tons of sand were used in the sandcastle.

There are sand glasses which are made with many colours and of many sizes, and they are very different from "Sand frames" and "sand pictures". They are made by using two glass sheets and multiple colours. With knowledge of good sand art, one can make pits, tunnels, sculptures that show a person or an animal or maybe a statue and perhaps a building model.

There is a process called Dribbing by using which one can make a drip castle. The slurry of water lands and sand is created with some effects. This effect is called to be Gaudi esque.

The sand arts are very famous in the beaches of Odisha, where many artists come and create some excellent illustrations. Sudharshan Pattanaik is one of the best artists I have ever seen. He always creates some epic sculpture is every occasion or ongoing news. He is in the top of the list.

So many competitions are held on sand art every year in different places. Some of them also give a record-breaking performance and even got placed in Guinness world records. Some of them do it as passion. Day by day, the sand is getting very popular, mainly in coastal areas that have a beach. The construction tools which are used to create a sandcastle and sand sculptures are shovels and buckets. There are still many people who only like to use their hands to make sand sculptures. Very simple sand sculptures can only be made with just a bucket full of sand.

Sometimes some other things are also used to construct sand arts such as wood pieces, and plastics are called forms. These are used to make holes or told some specific shapes.

Sand drawing, which is a significant part of sand art, is officially recognized as "A masterpiece in the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity” by UNESCO. Volcanic ash and sand are used to make the art for decades.

In many countries like Australia, Turkey, Bogor and more, many competitions are held every year on sand sculptures. For some, this is a way of living.

Sudharasan Pattanaik is an India artist who is based on Odisha made the world's tallest Santa Clause using sand. He was one of the internationally acclaimed sand artists. The sculpture was built on a beach in Puri, Odisha which is called Jagannath Dham, 65 km away from the capital city of Odisha, Bhubaneswar. Sudharsan Pattanaik describes so many stories by his sand art.

According to history, the sand art was originated from Jordan during the early 1940s. It got inspiration from rocks found in Petra Mountains and multi-coloured soils.

The sand and paintings are mainly famous in the Navajo tribes, which is the largest tribe in North American Indians. Aboriginal Ground art is one of the most popular forms of culturally inspired sand art. Nowadays, Bottled sand art is mostly famous among youngsters. Some adults also like this new type of art. The bottled sand art is made using wine bottles plastic bottles and jars with some colourful layers of sand and small additives. Many are using this bottled art for decorative purposes.

Some of the sand sculpture is made using wooden frames where the sand is used as fragile elements.
