Double celebrations ringing in for Nawazuddin Siddiqui, congratulates Anurag Kashyap for GOW bagging 59th position in the Guardian’s list

Written and directed by Anurag Kashyap, Gangs of Wasseypur is a two-part crime drama that released in 2012 is undoubtedly the game changer for actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The film not only changed the face of Indian films, it also went onto garner the international fame across several countries and now after 7 long years, GOW has made it to the Guardian’s list of top 100 best films acquiring the 59th position.

Elated actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who played the lead role in the film took to his Twitter and congratulated his close friend and director Anurag Kashyap and wrote, “Congratulations #AnuragKashyap you beauty, the epitome of innovation in Cinema, making Indians proud across the world, First for GOW being the only Indian film shortlisted by the Guardian & secondly Sacred Games being nominated at the Emmy's. 3 Cheers to Vikram, Neeraj & Team SG.”

He also expressed his joy for Sacred Games being nominated at the Emmy’s in the same tweet. Looks like, it’s a double celebration for the versatile actor.

Along with Nawazuddin Siddiqui, GOW also starred Manoj Bajpayee, Pankaj Tripathi, Reema Sen, Huma Qureshi, Anuritta K Jha, Vipin Sharma, Piyush Mishra, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Vineet Singh among others in the pivotal roles.

On the work front, Nawazuddin Siddiqui is currently shooting for his next romantic drama Bole Chudiyan alongside Tamannaah Bhatia.
