Dangerous Explosion Outside a Crowded Restaurant in Mogadishu

A car bomb exploded on Thursday close to a restrraunt in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, killing somewhere around 10 individuals, the police said. 

The blast on a bustling street in Mogadishu sent a gigantic haze of smoke into the sky and pulverized two restaurants and cars parked in the territory. An observer at the scene counted six dead bodies, according to Reuters. 

A police representative, Maj. Mohamed Hussein, told The Associated Press that the explosives-loaded vehicle has exploded outside the restraunt. 

"The impact destroyed a restraunt and killed many who were inside and outside the restraunt," he told Reuters. "The death toll may rise." 

He said many others had been harmed in the iblast, and that the greater part of the losses had been among diners at the crowded restaurant. 

Nobody immediately asserted duty regarding the bombarding. However, the Islamist group the Shabab, whose militants are connected to Al Qaeda, have focused on a similar area, the Wehliye Hotel, which is along Maka al Mukaram street. 

On Saturday, Shabab shooters raged a government building in Mogadishu after a suicide car bombarding, and the following gunfight and impact killed no less than 15 individuals, including the country's deputy labor minister, the police said, Reuters reported. 

On Tuesday, a bomb planted in a private luxury car exploded in Mogadishu's Hodan District, killing the driver and injuring an adjacent person on pedestrian, Col. Ahmed Abdi, a police official, told The A.P. 

The Shabab are battling to topple the Western-supported government protected by African Union forces.
