Plot: Haley Keller, an aspiring University of Florida swimmer, is warned by her sister about the sudden approaching Category-5 hurricane alert in the city. She was told to leave the town and evacuate her place. She has her father Dave and dog Sugar.

To let her father know about the calamity, she calls him, but no one responds. She visits his condo, where he had been living since he and her mother got divorced, but found no one except Sugar. Now she and Sugar struggle their way out of the flooded streets to reach the family house at Coral Lake.

Leaving Sugar, she goes down finding her father wounded and unconscious. Finding the exit close and surrounded by big and hungry alligators, they were frightened. They eventually find some help and get saved. While Dave and Sugar reach the attic, Haley swims around the kitchen to use the distressed radio signals so that she can reach the authorities. After whirling around in many hardships and giving full efforts to be alive, Dave loses an arm to the alligators, while Haley attempts to get to the helicopter from upstairs. However, she gets attacked by an alligator. After her struggle and willing to live, she flares the alligator in the eye and swims up to the roof. Finally, she lights the flare and gets down to the helicopter.

Review: The thriller movie is not very new to the audience, yet the people very much admire the portrayal of various characters in the film. The father-daughter relationship adds an emotional gist to the fiction. The movie is directed by Alexandre Aja who has also directed Piranha 3D. The promising acting of Kaya Scodelario and confident direction of Alexandre Aja has made the film interesting, other than that it has no new venture. It was like the movie 'jaw' replacing sharks with alligators. Overall, the movie did not work out well as some facts are not valid and the science does not allow that.
