China has launched driverless bullet train from Beijing to Zhangjiakou in the run-up to 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, which will cut short the travel time for a 108-miles journey from three hours to just 47 minutes, reported CNN Travel.

The train has 10 stoppages, which primarily includes Beijing, Zhangjiakou and Yanqing. All these stoppages will be close to the venues of the event. The train is capable to hike its running speed up to 350kms per hour.

The line became operational on December 30, which took almost four years to build. The coaches of the train are equipped with intelligent lighting, 5G signals and 2,718 sensors to get real-time data required to detect any operational abnormalities. Meanwhile, each seat has a touch-screen control panel and wireless charging point.

Considering the requirements of Winter Olympics, the train has larger storage areas accessible by QR codes, a dinning car which can transformed into a media room, and detachable seats to facilitate wheelchair-bound Paralympians.
