Attendance is a must for CBSE boards from this year, you must have the required attendance to get an admit card.

Notice from CBSE has been given to all the schools that students who are going to appear for board exams (for the year 2020) must have 75% attendance. If any student fails to meet the criteria, he or she won't be able to get the admit card. Any student who has a valid reason behind the lack of attendance has to submit all the valid documents to the officer of the regional office till January 7. The final decision for the same still lies with the Board.

We can't justify the necessity of this rule for this generation. But, every central and state government organization has its own rules and regulations. The intention is that kids should come to school regularly which is a common practice. They can't have a long break from school unnecessarily.

On the other hand, the demand for today's education culture asks them to be prepared to do best for getting good marks in boards as well as in other competitive exams. This pressure makes students juggle with studies for the whole year and they have to go to other institutes for the preparation of competitive exams. As a result, they have to bunk their schools and go for extra learning’s and practices.

Some institutes are associating directly with schools as they are going to prepare students for boards as well as other exams. Students of 11th and 12th class skip going to school and choose to go to those institutes for the whole year. They pay full attention to their competitive exams. This environment of competition has spoiled the basic motto of education. It has been a peer - pressure on the kids as well as on their parents too. As we see the results of the 10th or 12th, it almost goes beyond 80 - 90% on average. If we talk about the above average and smart students, their marks have to be between 90-99.9% for getting admission in good junior colleges or professional degree colleges.

Keeping all this aside, it is important to remember that board exams of 10th and 12th are around the corner. 10th Board exams are going to start on February 26, 2020, and will end on March 18, 2020. On the other hand, Mains of 12th class will be held from February 22 to March 30. Kids need to get ready for that!
